OVERLORD讲了什么？
一款席捲遊戲界的網路遊戲「YGGDRASIL（世界樹）」，在營運十二年後停止一切服務，一名喜歡該遊戲的普通上班族「飛鼠」，在營運的最後一刻來到遊戲中曾名噪一時、由其擔任會長的強大公會—「安茲·烏爾·恭」的根據地納薩力克大墳墓進行最後巡禮，等待營運的結束。營運時間結束，玩家角色卻無法登出遊戲。而公會內的NPC也開始擁有自己的思想、如活人般地活動起來。在原本的遊戲中擁有骷髏魔法師外表的飛鼠，就這樣與他率領的公會展開前所未有的奇幻傳奇冒險。
