흑신의 줄거리
이 세상에 인간은 모두 도플라이너로서 존재한다. 하나의 테라를 각기 다른 양으로 고유하며... 그들 중 2인 이상이 서로를 목격하면, 둘은 소멸한다. 순리에 어긋나지 못하게 하는 것. 공존균형이 지구가 정한 그 법칙에 따라, 3인 중 1이 남고 살아남은 1은 소멸된 2인의 모든 테라를 가져 루트가 된다. 하지만... 오랜 시간이 흐르며 이 지구에 3인이 아닌 숫자가 생겨나기 시작했다. 4인... 또는 2인의 도플라이너... 이들은 서로가 목격하여 소멸해도 1을 남길 수 없기 때문에 불완전한 숫자로 존재했다. 따라서 지구는 이 불완전한 1을 제거하기 위해... 천적을 탄생시켰다. 그들은 불완전한 숫자의 인간을 압도적으로 제지할 수 있도록 인간보다 월등히 강한 신체 능력, 생명력, 적응력을 지닌- 전혀 별개의 포유류로 탄생되었다. 그런 그들을 과거의 사람들은 원신령(元神靈)이라고 불렀다.

A recap of events that occurred between episodes one through twenty two, mostly from Kuro's point-of-view. In the present, after the destruction of the doppeliner system, Akane is getting married to Keita, and thanks Kuro for allowing them to reach that point. Several decades later, Kuro receives a telepathic message from a very old Keita, despite isolating herself in the Holy Land. Keita tells Kuro that he will be taking "their curse" with him, and thanks her for everything she did for him and that he lived a life of happiness. After delivering his message, Keita dies just before his grandchildren come to get him for dinner. Relieved that Keita was truly happy, Kuro cries and tells her beloved contractee to rest in peace.
