Worum geht es in My Name Is Farah?
Farah ist eine 28-jährige Iranerin. Als sie vor 6 Jahren aus dem Iran nach Frankreich floh, musste sie in Istanbul einen Zwischenstopp einlegen, weil sie erfuhr, dass sie schwanger war. Er beginnt hier als Flüchtling zu leben. Außerdem hat sein Sohn Kerimşah eine seltene Krankheit. Da das Immunsystem von Geburt an sehr schwach ist, ist Kerimşah anfällig für Krankheiten. Deshalb muss er in einer sterilen Umgebung leben. Trotz einer medizinischen Ausbildung arbeitet Farah illegal als Reinigungskraft in Istanbul. Farahs Lebensziel ist es, dass ihr Sohn Kerimşah gesund wird und ein Leben wie normale Kinder führen kann. Er wird so bald wie möglich Geld sparen, um die Behandlung seines Sohnes abzuschließen und wieder nach Frankreich zu gehen.
